The construction of the Teufelberger 11 mm KM Pro Life Safety Rope is rooted in their flagship rescue product KM III. This ensures you get the superior strength, handling, tenacity, abrasion resistance, and low elongation you expect from TEUFELBERGER. However, rope access ropes have a completely different set of demands than rescue ropes. The rope access world requires workhorse ropes that perform at the highest level under constant use in often challenging situations. Consequently, they need a hard focus on low elongation and high strength but without the ‘cable’ feel of solid polyester ropes. The only way you can achieve this blend is by merging polyester and nylon. While finding that perfect blend usually results in a higher cost, it does not in this case. Specifically, we found the most amazing blend of anti-rotational fiber and paired it with massive efficiency gains for the KM Pro. Therefore, we were able to produce this high-functioning rope at a lower cost than similar ropes, especially those with the NFPA price tag.
The KM Pro is life safety certified according to EN1981A and CI1805. Its MBS is 35kN and its elongation is only 2.0%. The polyamide core keeps the rope round and supple, even after a lifetime of use.
