Description
We developed the Large Steel Locking D especially for the needs of the fire, rescue, technical, and military communities. It has a large 1.20-inch gate opening and a smooth action. Therefore, you can easily attach it to almost anything.
We meticulously hand-finish each component before final assembly. This process results in the smooth, free gate action that is a hallmark of all SMC carabiners. Furthermore, the sleeve locks on the gate, not the carabiner’s body. This design eliminates problems where the knob binds on the frame after you load the carabiner. We use stainless steel gates and locking sleeves for smooth action, greater strength, and optimal reliability. Finally, we inspect each carabiner by hand for its gate action and other functional characteristics before it leaves our factory.
