Description
SMC’s 3″ Double Aluminum Prusik Minding Pulley (PMP) has a wide base design. This design maximizes the effectiveness of a Prusik hitch and you will most often find it in progress capture and hauling systems. Furthermore, PMPs are especially versatile. You can use them in many ways, from progress capture and hauling systems to crevasse rescue and high-lines.
The D-shaped top hole accepts up to three large rescue carabiners. It can also accept multiple smaller carabiners. This hole allows the carabiners to rotate freely and completely. The side plates are precisely tensioned, which helps you use them with one hand. Solid side plates also help to further reduce snagging.
Sealed ball bearings provide optimal efficiency. Therefore, they reduce the resistance that is a part of most multiple-component systems. In addition, they are not prone to failure under misaligned loads or with twisted gear that can occur with needle bearings.
Features and Benefits
- It is UL certified to meet NFPA 1983 “G” General Use standards.
- High-efficiency sealed ball bearings provide flawless function, even under conditions that would shut down lesser pulleys.
- The side plates are precisely tensioned, so you can operate them easily with one hand and secure them at any point along the rope.
- An oversized top hole is designed for use with up to two rescue carabiners. This design is also large enough to allow a locked carabiner’s sleeve to pass through.
- Low-profile fasteners reduce snagging and prevent the pulley from hanging up when you move it.
- A wide base design works most efficiently with Prusik cords up to 8mm.
Certifications
Certified by Underwriter’s Laboratories to exceed the NFPA 1983 “G” – General Use requirement of 40kN.
